Historical information
On the 22nd of March 1974 in Moscow was signed the agreement between the USSR and the GDR about the foundation on the territory of Moldova in the town Bendery an enterprise for production of footwear by injection method of sole attaching on PVC and with textile uppers, rated capacity - 5 million pair per year. On the 5th of December 1975 – in less than two year – the new enterprise named “Floare” produced the first pair of footwear. In Moldavian “floare” means “flower”. Therefore the stylised petals are represented on the logotype of the enterprise carrying the colours of the light spectrum. The colour range of the logotype point out the variety of the used materials: bright and rich colours, fashionable designs.
The main production was based in Bendery and the branch was situated in the town Kotovsk, that was engaged in cutting and stitching of uppers. At that time in the country was widely adopted the injection method of sole attaching in which launching a number of research institutes of the USSR acquired invaluable assistance for the new company.
In three years “Floare” made itself known on the international market – the first shipment of footwear was sold for export. The profits gained in foreign currency were employed for further development and improvement of the factory’s machinery.
A reconstruction of the factory aiming at introduction of the new technologies was undertaken in 1980 with the co-operation of the German company “Richard Brill”. Up-to-date machinery designed by leading Europe manufacturers allowed the factory to produce 9 million pair of footwear per year.
In 1989 “Floare” generated a factory producing footwear for men and women by the injection method of sole attaching on PU (polyurethane). It is known now as footwear factory “Tigina”. “Floare” and “Tigina” are the companies, which have achieved world recognition as high-productive and flexible manufacturers of fashionable and comfortable footwear.
Since the year 2002 “Floare” is a closed joint stock company.
